"Miracles are not impossible from a logical standpoint, and right reason does not deny them. Natural laws do not have the claim to be the only ones, nor are they threatened with being overturned by the appearance of other laws, supernatural ones, which also are conducive to the development and furtherance of creation... Miracles are a consequence of the Creator's love for his creatures." + St Nektarios of Aegina (1846-1920)
"Christian religion is not a certain philosophic system, about which learned men, trained in metaphysical studies, argue and then either espouse or reject, according to the opinion each one has formed. It is faith, established in the souls of men, which ought to be spread to the many and be maintained in their consciousnesses."

Patriarch Daniel of Romania blesses a new shrine (2016) with relics of St Nektarios of Aegina at Izbuc Monastery, Bihor county, Romania
St Nektarios of Aegina
"Many tiny fragments of the body of a twentieth-century Greek saint, Nektarios, are today cherished by Romanian devotees who have adopted him as one of their own saints." The Migrating Relics of St Nekatarios In recent years there has been "a sustained migration of relics from Greece to Romania. The process is due to a propitious combination of factors relating to the religious revival in Romania since the fall of communism, the tightening of relations between the Greek and Romanian Orthodox churches and the recent economic crisis." SAINT NEKTARIOS, THE "MIGRANT" SAINT:FROM THE GREEK AEGINA TO THE "ROMANIAN AEGINA" by Irina Stahl
Supplicatory Canon (Paraklesis) of St. Nektarios
O hly hierarch of Christ, Nekatarios, Afflicted in body and soul, O Saint I run to thy shelter Seeking aid and crying to thee: Bestow thou thy peace on me, O Father, And do thou free both my spirit and flesh from harm.
As one that lived righteously in this life, O Godbearing Father, Saint Nectarios, do thou heal (And) sanctify all that hasten to thee And kiss thine icon and relics with reverence.
To them that seek healing of thee with faith , Come hasten O Father, And deliver them from all pain; For thou art a merciful physician, O most revered wonderworker, Nectarios.
Since thou art the Birthgiver of our God, O most holy Maiden, Show thy mercy to me , thy slave; And free me from harm and from the malice Of the invisible serpent, I beg of thee.
From all manner of illness And from affliction of soul And from all satanic assaults Deliver us, Saint of God; For thou art known to be A most compassionate shepherd Who dost ever stand in guard Over thy faithful flock.
Thou art truly a flowing spring Of divine gifts for us. Gushing forth with spiritual nectar Which doth dispel the grief And grievous bitterness Of all our failings and passions, And doth grant the sweetness of grace, O beloved of God.
